La Pachanga, located across the street from Banco National inside of Hotel Mamiri, is an amazing find for people searching for gluten free pasta in Tamarindo. I chose the pasta puttanesca with olives, capers and tomatoes and it was amazing and my wife tried the pasta with vodka sauce and she was equally impressed. You don’t get the homemade pasta that so many people rave about, but the gluten free pasta was perfectly cooked and delicious (not mushy like rice pasta tends to be).
For dessert we both had affogato (a scoop of chocolate gelato and espresso) and it was also fantastic.
The service and atmosphere was great too, we will definitely be returning to La Pachanga again and again.
When ordering just make sure you ensure that your gluten free pasta is cooked in fresh water (not the water they use for the standard pasta). I’ve heard about this happening at other restaurants and always make sure that my pasta is cooked in a safe manner.
